Intranet Redesign for Enhanced Digital Resource Access
To address Oberlin College’s inefficient method of sharing internal resources, the Center for Information Technology (CIT) launched a campus-wide intranet aimed at improving information access for students, faculty, and staff. SharePoint was selected as the platform for departmental sites, but due to its limited native design flexibility, CIT invested in Origami, a SharePoint enhancement tool, to improve both visual design and site functionality.
Process
In close collaboration with the CIO, I led the UX content strategy and helped design curated landing pages focused on streamlining navigation, enhancing discoverability, and aligning site structure with the core IT services offered. This initiative prioritized user-centric design principles, making it easier for campus stakeholders to find and utilize key technology resources.
